Bite-sized edits from the past 10 years.

I started making Super 8 wedding films in 2010 and added a 16mm camera to my kit bag in 2012.

Film scanning has improved, so more recent work looks sharper, some films just don’t “fit” on the home-page and there are some things aren’t weddings at all but that I’d still like to share- so I’ve cut the longer films into bite-sized chunks and sprinkled them here.

I originally cut the one minute edits to share on my Instagram. Most of the soundtracks have been raided from Youtube’s copyright free music library - apologies for the fact that you’ll hear the same tracks several times and that some of them are a teeny bit cheesy.

Music Video, 2017

I used to have a sideline in weird stop-frame animation.

In 2016-17 I was commissioned by Mercury Prize winning artist, Speech Debelle to make this.

It’s mostly made of footage from Speech’s personal archive, printed, chopped up and collaged - frame by frame, by frame, by frame, etc.

There were a lot of very small pieces of paper in my life.

Claire & Daniel, 2014

At Poundon House, St Mary's Church, Haddenham and The Tythe Barn.

Shot on Kodak Super 8 and Fuji 16mm film.

Alison & Andrew, 2016

Crear is a venue unlike any other that I’ve shot at - perched above a private beach in a remote stretch of the Mull of Kintyre on the West Coast of Scotland.

Shot on Kodak Super 8 and some old Fuji Eterna 16mm.

Lily & Lenny, 2016

At a private Chateaux in Bordeaux, France.

Shot on Kodak Super 8 and 16mm film and a little bit of expired Fuji 16mm.

See below for the evening bits.

Lily & Lenny cont.

I’m often asked whether it’s possible to shoot on film in low-light.

It is: here's some footage from Lilly and Lenny’s evening do.

Alice & James, 2012

A windy, sunny wedding day on the family fruit farm in Kent.

Shot on Kodak Super 8 film.

Wine Comes In at the Mouth - Music Video

A music video for Ed Critchley by Wilex for straight 8 2019.

I teamed up with my friend Alex to make this far-from-perfect, totally unedited music video for straight 8 2019.

straight 8 is an awesome film competition with ridiculously strict rules.

My entries from 2006-2012 premiered at Cannes Film Festival. That’s another story though.

Madeline & Matthew, 2014

At Chateau La Durantie in the Dordogne, France.

One of my favourite Chateaux to shoot at!

Erika & Mark, 2012

At the Church of St Martha-on-the-Hill, Guildford.

Erika & Mark are musicians. Mark is the drummer for Skunk Anansie - and yes, that is them playing at the reception.

This was also the first wedding that I shot any 16mm film at - I was blown away by the results - especially in limited light.

Christina & Flor, 2015

My wife met Christina when training to be a ski instructor a long, long time ago.

We shot her & Flor’s stunning wedding in Kenmare, County Kerry as a wedding present.

On Kodak Super 8 and Various 16mm film.

Katie & Billy, 2012

Not an edit, just a long, slow-motion rose petal confetti shot on Super 8 film.

Karen & Firas, 2014

On a crisp winters day by the sea at the East Quay in Whitstable.

A.K.A. The Lobster Shack.

Charlie & Jonny, 2015

I’ve been tremendously lucky to shoot more weddings at Preston Court in Kent than anywhere else.

Charlie & Jonny’s wedding service took place at the very pretty St Mildred’s church, right next door to the venue.
